Organiser sought for seminar and discussion series for young people

The Integration and Migration Foundation 'Our People' (MISA) has launched a procurement to find an organiser for a series of seminars and discussions designed for young people. MISA is looking to find a partner to carry out seminars and discussions on the topics of social relations and communication for 700 youngsters all over Estonia between October 2016 and August 2017.

Last December MISA organised a cooperation seminar entitled ‘Alone? Together!’ which aimed to gather the ideas and observations of young people in order for cooperation activities designed for them to be implemented. “During the event we mapped the issues that young people themselves feel need to be resolved,” explained MISA’s Head of Cooperation Natalja Reppo. “The launch of this series of seminars and discussions was prompted by the ideas they came up with and the problems they identified – the things that matter to them most.

The key focus of the events to be organised this year and next will be relationships between young people and their communication skills in a range of social environments, such as relations within the family, at school, at work, among friends and in society more broadly. The aim is to take a closer look at the attitudes, behavioural models and challenges that accompany social relations and communication. It is also important to turn attention to the role of communication in creating and maintaining relationships.

The seminars and discussions are designed for young people aged 17-26 from different ethnic backgrounds living in counties all over Estonia, with the goal being to foster contact and cooperation between them. The events will take place in at least seven different counties, including Ida-Viru, Harju, Tartu and Pärnu counties. Each discussion will involve at least 25 youngsters, with a total number of participants in all events of 700. The winner of the procurement will also be charged with the task of organising a closing seminar to summarise the discussions and their results and highlight key points of view. The final seminar is designed for a broader youth work audience.

Information about the procurement, entitled ‘Organisation of seminars and discussions designed for young people’, can be found on the MISA website. The deadline for the submission of tenders is 10:00 on 19 September 2016.

The series of seminars and discussions is one of the integration-based cooperation activities being implemented by MISA as part of the ‘Integration cooperation activities’ sub-programme of the ‘Activities supporting integration in Estonian society’ programme of the European Social Fund.
